|Worth a Visit If You Love Waterfalls ...
Agnes Vaille Falls is located in Chalk
Creek Canyon, west of Nathrop, Colorado.
This is the most popular waterfall in Chaffee County, and its easy accessibility make it a sure winner for
vacationers in Salida and
who desire to see one. The trail is a gentle ascent for
0.5 miles with some rock scrambling required to reach the base of the falls.
Note that signs warn hikers of the possibility of falling rocks in the canyon.
Directions: From Nathrop, travel west on Chaffee County
Road 162 into the mountains. Pass the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs on the
left and keep going. The Agnes Vaille Falls Trailhead and parking area are a
few more miles ahead with a sign on the right. If you reach Cascade Falls or
where the pavement ends, you've gone too far.
Yours truly, standing at the base. It's such a pretty spot!
