Agnes Vaille Falls - Me Standing At the Base
Introduction
Agnes Vaille Falls is located inside Chalk
Creek Canyon and west of the town of Nathrop and the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs.
This is the most popular waterfall in Chaffee County, and its easy accessibility make it a sure winner for
vacationers in Salida and
Buena Vista
who desire to see a large waterfall in person.
Directions: From Nathrop, travel west on Chaffee County
Road 162 into the mountains. Pass the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs on the
left. Keep going! The Agnes Vaille Falls Trailhead and parking area are a
few more miles ahead with a sign on the right. If you reach Cascade Falls or
where the pavement ends, you've gone too far! The trail is a 0.5 mile ascent to the waterfall.
Note that signs exist warning hikers of the possibility of falling rocks on the left side of the canyon.
