COLORADO SNOWSTORM! Photos & Musings About A Late April Snowstorm - April 28, 2006
Snow! If you are the type who loves snow and welcomes snowstorms, then you'll appreciate this page.
Two days ago, on April 28, we received an all-day snowstorm
in Buena Vista
and throughout the Arkansas Valley. It was
a Friday, and I had planned to take
the afternoon off to go bicycling somewhere.
Well, mother nature had other plans. :(
So there I was sitting in my cabin and I just sort of "lost it" with the snow.
Now make no mistake, when it's December, January and Febraury, I fully welcome and
embrace winter weather. I appreciate the four seasons! But usually around mid-March, that's when
I start itching for the warm weather and I'm looking to begin my daily bicycling routine. The problem
is, the Colorado high country takes
its good ol' time in delivering spring weather.
For those of you who regularly
visit the Friendship Board, I want to thank those of you who participated in the Colorado snowstorm boycott. :)
Ah but there's a saying, If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So that's what I did on Friday.
I drove around a bit on some roads and snapped a few shots in the vicinity
of my cabin. Oh, and just for the record, during
my Sunday kayak adventure on
Cottonwood Lake (in Spring Canyon, near
Cottonwood Pass), it snowed really hard
for about five minutes before the sun came out again. Oh well, it's
Colorado! -Steve ;)
