A Three-Pronged Waterfall In Rifle Falls State Park; My Hike And Photos During Snowfall
A snowy waterfall ... If you love Colorado waterfalls, Rifle Falls in Rifle Falls State Park
should be on your visit list. The park is approximately twelve miles north of
Rifle, Colorado, and offers campgrounds, hiking trails and fishing opportunities in East Rifle Creek.
The waterfall is also available as a site for weddings and other events.
Directions: At exit 90 on Interstate 70, travel north into Rifle and take State Highway 13 north. Proceed out of town and turn right on
Colorado Highway 325 for approximately ten miles. There are also signs throughout this route for the park.
March 9, 2013 - At the entrance to Rifle Falls State Park, I noticed there were no tire impressions on the
new layer of snow on the main road, nor were there
footsteps on any of the trails. I had the entire park and waterfall to myself! :)
The admission fee for cars is $7 as of March 2013.
It is a short hike to the waterfall. The quality of my photos are far from the greatest, but at least it captured the snowflakes coming down.
This was a special visit for me.
