| Read the sign (by clicking it) for more information about the ghost town of Independence. It is located approximately two miles west of Independence Pass on Highway 82. It is a really beautiful spot! |
| A few photos of miners' cabins. Most of the buildings have markers explaining the building's original function.

| I snapped a photo of one of the insides of a miner's cabin. |
| This was one of Independence's three grocery stores
when the town was in its heyday. |
| The town is located in the upper Roaring Fork valley with grand views
of the Rocky Mountains. The creek inside this valley eventually flows downward to the
towns of Aspen, Basalt and Carbondale before spilling into the Colorado River at Glenwood Springs. |
| When I was visiting, I think I had the entire ghost town to myself! :) |

| Friends, if you are really interested in Colorado ghost towns, this place is definitely worth a visit. (One token photo of myself!) |
