Road Biking In Garden of the Gods - Colorado Springs, CO

A Bike-Friendly Park In Colorado Springs
With bicycle lanes on many of the roads, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is an excellent place for road biking. And where there aren't lanes, there are signs and markers noting that bicycles are welcome. If you start at the visitor center and head to Balanced Rock (which I did), the round trip is approximately seven miles.

September 25, 2013 - When I lived in this area, I biked in Garden of the Gods many times. However, because I was visiting from the Western Slope, I think I enjoyed my bike ride even more. I felt like a "tourist" -- and that's not a bad thing. :)

Bicycle Lane I was in a bicycle lane like this for much of my ride.

Garden of the Gods The next popular spot for visitors to pull over.

Balanced Rock

I biked southward and reached Balanced Rock. Now, I've noticed the name "Balanced Rock" is common, as there are rocks with the same name in Colorado National Monument and Arches National Park. :)
