"Florida Pete" Announces Candidacy For Hair Consultant!
Pete Hopes "Third Time Is A Charm"; Seeks To Help Steve With Long Hair Goals (March 7, 2007)
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA -- One candidate is really hoping there is some truth to the saying
that a "third time is a charm!"
"Florida Pete" Harrison,
a restaurant furniture installer and restorer of antique furniture in South Carolina,
recently announced his candidacy for
Hair Consultant in the upcoming mid-April 2007 election.
Pete has finished in second place in the past two elections and is
hoping to win the position of being Steve "Colorado Guy" Garufi's
top encourager with obtaining his long hair goals.
A regular visitor of this web site and a source of so much fun on the ColoradoGuy forums,
many consider him the clear favorite to win this year. (Pete and his family moved to South Carolina last year,
but has maintained the nickname of "Florida Pete.")
Florida Pete has an impressive record to show off to voters.
He advertised his business on this web site for over a year and created the
ColoradoGuy Daily Trivia Game which provides daily enjoyment for web site visitors.
Pete is well-adored for his funny and witty comments on the
discussion forums, once
wrote a poem about this web site two years ago and even traveled
over 2,000 miles to attend the 2006 Colorado Guy Festival.
Like in past years, Pete
carried a strong campaign message of challenging Steve with various health and diet-related
issues as he grows his hair out.

Runner Up Two Years In A Row
Pete was a fairly popular candidate
in the 2006 and
2005 elections,
but he was the recipient of plenty of bad luck.
In 2005, Pete actually won the popular vote over
Ben Paulson, a geolgist in Washington, but lost the electoral vote by a significant margin.
In 2006, the election results were so close that a tie-breaker coin flip for
Arizona's 23 electoral votes determined the winner, which Pete lost to current reigning Hair Consultant Sarah.

Florida Pete's Campaign Announcement
Pete submitted the following in an e-mail, detailing his vision for Steve's hair:
"The fire in my belly to win has been dampened by the soaking
of two consecutive losses. Yet here I am, ready to campaign against
some of the finest HC talent I have come to know in the past three years that
I've been a ColoradoGuy regular.
Steve is at the zenith of his life, middle age,
and his hairline will encounter a recession like he's never known before. With a
teenaged female as his last Hair Consultant, this aspect of a
middle aged male
hairline was not foreseen and has been severely neglected. It will be my duty as the next elected Hair
Consultant to create a 'Hairline Security Unit' to oversee any changes in hair recession and elevate
the warning status to the CG community when hair security
is at risk or hair loss is imminent.
I also will actively send Steve website links to hair care and hair rejuvenation products to
bolster his hair growth to dynamic proportions and lengths. That is my promise.
In closing I'd like to state that Phoenix Phil (his opponent) is a wonderful person
and I wish him the best of luck in his own venture as Hair Consultant."
-Pete
Information About Steve's Hair Consultant
The position of Hair Consultant was created in October 1998
so that one person could be a coach, advice-giver and encourager
for Steve in growing his long, naturally curly hair as long as possible.
Since then, the position has changed with the times and now includes the
Hair Consultant being a "public figure" on this web site.
There have been 16 Hair Consultants in the history of Steve's hair.
The currently Hair Consultant is 19-year-old Sarah (adjacent photo) in Idaho,
who decided to not seek re-election this year.
This year, the Hair Consultant election will be held on April 12-15, 2007,
and all are encouraged to vote. Visit
the 2007 Hair Consultant election page for more details.
