His opponent, Phil The Lurker, had a lot to say in a phone interview today:

"I just find it astounding that a Hair Consultant would have short hair! That's been one of the major problems of Hair Consultants in the past." said Phil, who has had longish hair since being in the fifth grade in 1967.

Phil blasted the possibility of an inexperienced and unqualified candidate in Pete: "Would you let your children take lessons on how to drive a car by someone who doesn't drive? It's crazy to me." said Phil, "It'll be another long year of an incompetent Hair Consultant who doesn't 'walk his talk' if (Pete) is elected."

Phil grew up in Colorado Springs and was in elementary school during the late 1960's, when the really conservative and stupid-looking crew cut styles were the norm. Even then, Phil "bucked the system" even amidst threats from school teachers who wanted to cut his hair.

Back when crew cuts were the big thing in the 1960's, including the style known as the 'pineapple," I had long hair." added Phil.

Steve "Colorado Guy" Garufi also had harsh words when this fact was revealed during Pete's failed attempt to be Hair Consultant in 2006.

"I really do think it's disturbing that Pete caved in and cut his hair to impress whomever. To me, that's kind of spineless." said Steve.

Florida Pete has been criticized in other ways during this campaign, including many attacks from Phil and his supporters. Two weeks ago, Pete was ridiculed when it was revealed many of his strongest supporters have avatars that either hide or conceal their hair. In previous campaigns, he was also blasted for voting for Mike Dukakis for president in 1988, and for being a weasel and dimwit.

This year, there are two candidates (Florida Pete and Phil The Lurker) running in the annual mid-April election that determines who will serve as Hair Consultant - the chief encourager and "go to person" for Steve "Colorado Guy" Garufi in his effort to grown his naturally curly hair really long.
