Popular Long Hair Web Site Back Florida Pete

Jennifer B., a nationally-known tricologist who specializes in hair care planning for women desiring to grow their hair really long, wrote briefly about her support for Pete:

"I got a disturbing email ... stating that Pete's competitor, whose name will go unmentioned (i.e. Phil The Lurker), recommends against using conditioner!! What could he possibly be thinking?? Florida Pete is clearly the most qualified candidate. It is unthinkable that he would not win."

Florida Pete, who has been pushing for Steve to use better conditioners and promoting better nutrition for quicker long hair growth, expressed appreciation.

"I've become very knowledgeable about hair through the years because of your website! I'm flattered to have such a fine endorsement!" Pete wrote. (Left Photo)

It is too early to determine how much this endorsement will help Florida Pete, but one undecided voter took notice and wrote on the Friendship Board, "I must say this announcement will heavly influence my decision! Longhairlovers.com is a very well-respected institution. This is a huge endorsement for Pete!" said Paul in Maryland.

In response to the endorsement, Phil The Lurker admitted he has never visited LongHairLovers.com, and had the audacity to challenge the credentials of Jennifer and the Long Hair Lovers community: "Not knowing much about this particular website ... before they make an endorsement, maybe they would accept my challenge to put our pics up for their great hair members to decide for themselves! Who has the best hair?"

"(Phil) had a Howard Dean 'insert foot in mouth' moment with that statement. There are thousands of long-haired people on that web site with amazingly long hair." stated Steve, "I'm an undecided voter, but I must admit objectively that he could really use a publicist who should review and filter through everything he says. It would help his campaign."

Steve regularly visited LongHairLovers.com in 2000 and along with obtaining inspiration to grow his hair long, he credits the community-based web site as a model site of what he runs on ColoradoGuy.com.

In a press release this weekend, the current Hair Consultant Sarah voiced her support for Pete. She wrote:

"Phil is under qualified, and doesn’t know how to care for his hair. It may be longer, but Pete’s is much thicker and healthier. I think Pete will make a wonderful HC and I would encourage all of you who support Phil to rethink your decision. Pete is exactly what Steve needs this year.

Phil has some serious lurker tenancies. We need a hair consultant who is committed not just to Steve, but to the Colorado Guy community. Pete came all the way from South Carolina to see us over Labor Day ... I'd say that shows some serious commitment."

In response, Pete wrote: "My head is spinning! I think that Irish beer I had last night is still working. You won't regret this, too much, Sarah!"

Sarah plans to help Pete's cause by motivating her entire family in Idaho to vote for Pete. After narrowly winning the 2006 election over Pete and two other candidates, Sarah opted not to run again this year.

This year, there are two candidates (Florida Pete and Phil The Lurker) running in the annual mid-April election that determines who will serve as Hair Consultant - the chief encourager and "go to person" for Steve "Colorado Guy" Garufi in his effort to grown his naturally curly hair really long.
