Telluride and Dunton in the San Juans

(2007 CG Festival: Telluride, Lizard Head Pass, Drive To Dunton, Rainbow) - September 3, 2007

	On the second full day of the 2007 Colorado Guy Festival, the gang decided to go for a scenic drive among the San Juan Mountains. After stopping for coffee in Ridgway, we arrived in Telluride to have lunch.
	We ended up at Emilio's on the main avenue in Telluride, and you can see some more photos of out time here: Eating Pictures. Dave-O (with a leg cast and holding the pepper) drove out to visit everyone, many for the first time. Dave and I have biked frequently in Colorado. 	Around the main entrance to Mountain Village, it began to rain really hard! Poor Kelly pulled over quickly and put the top of her Jeep.
	A couple of photos of the mountains at Lizard Head Pass.
	Aw, a nice shot of Glenda and Judy, two visitors from Texas and California respectively. I think they both had a really great time! :)
	We then took the dirt road leading to Dunton (north of Rico) and I captured this in-action driving photo with Kelly's Jeep behind. Dave-O seemed to be having some emotional problems in the back seat! ;)
	At a clearing with a nice view of the Wilson mountain group behind, we captured this lovely group shot.
	The town of Dunton is on private land and we were disallowed to enter by the person we called at the entrance. Here are a couple of photos though.

On the way back, there was quite an impressive rainbow west of Telluride. The bottom photos shows the view of the valley at the Highway 145 junction. Here are my other rainbow pages:
