July Vacation - Twin Lakes, CO and Buena Vista, CO
Seven Blissful Days in the Rocky Mountains July 1-7, 2015 - Being Colorado Guy, it's a little sad to do a write-up with photos that I title a "vacation," but that's the way things are.
Currently I'm living in Albuquerque, New Mexico and at least for now, this is where I belong. Anyway, below are my photos from seven days in
Buena Vista and Twin Lakes. Special thanks to the Greens, Calhouns and Mosers for putting me up all those nights. You are wonderful friends!

- This is a relatively easy hike to a 12er at Independence Pass.
Look at all the wonderful snow still up there ... and I did this hike on July 4! :)

An easy 0.6 mile hike (one way) that begins at the first switchback west of Independence Pass. Linkins Lake
On the first morning back in Colorado, I paid a visit to Cottonwood Pass. Over ten years, I visited this place so often that I made a website dedicated to it:

Back in Buena Vista, I met Dave and Sharon Geisler of
Look, when a guy reads
my book, has followed ColoradoGuy.com for years,
and also has an alert on his phone when I post a
new YouTube video,
I want to meet him. I'm so glad I did! :)
Buena Vista is a special town for me -- sometimes magical even.

It was also common to visit friends' homes and to see my book in a prominent place. :)

One afternoon, I traveled into Chalk Creek Canyon, which is west of Nathrop in Chaffee County.
I spent time at

Of course, I had to visit St. Elmo, a well-visited ghost town in the summer months.
