Bridal Veil Falls, Telluride, CO

Bridal Veils Falls is a large two-pronged waterfall located east of the town of Telluride. Getting there is easy: Travel east on Colorado Avenue (Main Street) all the way out of town. Pass the Pandora Mine and continue up the switchbacks to the waterfall. At the first switchback, a 4-wheel drive and/or high clearance vehicle is a very good idea. Otherwise, park as far up as you can and hike up the road.

I traveled to this spot with the Wilson Family. Special thanks to them for taking me along! ;)

Folks, if you love 4-wheel driving and waterfalls and you're in the Telluride area, you really need to check out Bridal Veil Falls.

You can see my previous visit with Dave-O in October 2005 here: Bridal Veil Falls.

Again, special thanks to Jay for driving us up there.

The day before, Jay and I drove in his Jeep on Last Dollar Road. It was fun!

Along the way, I spotted this pretty waterfall that reminded me of Cascade Falls in Ouray.
Steve Throwing a Snowball There was way too much snow to drive to the base of the falls, and so we walked along the final few switchbacks. At one point, I frolicked in the snow and threw a snowball with thoughts of my dear friends in southern Arizona who are enjoying 100+ degree days! :)
Snowmobile There is still lots of snowmobiling activity happening past Bridal Veil Falls. Taken all the way to the top, this road leads to Black Bear Pass.
Jay, Lisa and two of their kids hike over a large mound of snow covering the road.
Two more scenery photos.
