Blue Mesa Reservoir - Gunnison, Colorado

Photos Over the years, I've driven past Blue Mesa Reservoir on U.S. Highway 50 many times, and, I must confess that I don't think I've ever stopped. All of my photos of this scenic body of water were taken as I was driving. I guess I'm usually in a rush to someplace else like Montrose, Telluride or some spot in the San Juan Mountains. Click any image to view it at a larger size. A new window will open.	May 2006 - I made the long trip from Telluride back to Buena Vista, when I decided to pull out the camera at Blue Mesa Reservoir in Gunnison County.
	Every single one of these photos was taken while I was driving eastbound on Highway 50. I was itching to get home! ;)

	I really like the compositon of this photo with the bridge across the middle of the reservoir.
	I zoomed in on a boat! :) Blue Mesa Reservoir is quite popular for boating and fishing, and is located west of the town of Gunnison. Not far downstream from the reservoir, the Gunnison River flows into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
